Backyard Fix-up #3

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Earlier this summer I showed you how terrible our backyard was looking and my improvements once I planted some fresh new blooms. I figured since summer is quickly (and sadly!) coming to a close I'd show you an update of how things worked out.

I'm really happy with the progress of my plants. Since the plants did so well it inspired me to spruce up a few other things too. I repainted our little bistro set that had gotten all rusty from sitting outside all year long. Guess what I used?! SPRAY PAINT! It was so easy and completely covered the rust making the set look brand new again. I also found another smaller star to hang so I painted it the same red as our large star that I talked about in part 2. I think the whole little corner looks pretty cute now.

I also painted the back door black to spice things up just a little bit. And we also repainted the the outdoor lights because they were looking gross! Overall I think things turned out pretty good back there. I still have a couple ideas in mind that I'll tackle next summer. Look at these cute little containers I bought:

Apparently I'm going with a star theme in the yard. So, that's all for this summer. I'll just keep watering until the weather freezes my plants! Anyone else do any yard sprucing this summer??
